Rainy Saturday Morning – Not a Problem
It’s a rainy Saturday morning and 50 degrees here in West Yellowstone, but don’t let that put a damper on your day. Start with a good hardy breakfast in our Trappers Restaurant. Then head into Yellowstone National Park, the wildlife don’t mind the rain.
There is still plenty of wildlife, don’t worry. If you are not used to cold weather, the key is to pack/dress in layers. Light-weight, good quality raincoats are a good idea. They keep rain, snow, and some wind out. Under that ware warm fleeces and a sweater. Rain pants on the bottom with regular athletic/hiking pants are good. Winter hats and gloves, and smart-wool socks (with an extra pair always in the pack) and you will be warm, and have a great time. The weather out west changes from hour to hour and it can start with snow in the morning, sun at noon, and rain in the afternoon. Bring layers and be prepared to change what combo of clothing you are wearing 2-3 times throughout the day. Also, rarely does it rain all day in the mountains! If you have the right clothing, you won’t even notice the weather.
Enjoy your day then come back to the Days Inn West Yellowstone and relax by the indoor pool.
